BUS RAPID TRANSIT NETWORK DESIGN: PLANNING ROUTES ANDUPGRADING STOPS AMONG MULTIPLE MUNICIPALITIES

Bus Rapid Transit (BRT) offers a fast, cost-effective alternative to rail, improving public transport and promoting sustainable mobility. BRT implementation requires stop upgrades and investments across multiple municipalities with different priorities. This study presents a model for optimising BRT routes and stop locations while balancing municipal interests and investment responsibilities. Applied to a case study in Greater Copenhagen, the model demonstrates how strategic planning can enhance BRT effectiveness and regional stakeholder alignment.
