Authors: Ali Nadi, Carla Robb, Maaike Snelder

We are excited to share the latest XCARCITY report on the Almere Pampus use case. This study examines how different housing densities and parking standards influence car ownership, travel behavior, and environmental quality. Using advanced digital twin technology, the report reveals that stricter parking standards significantly reduce car ownership and vehicle kilometers traveled, improve air and noise quality within Pampus, and encourage a shift toward public transport and cycling. However, it also highlights potential spillover effects, such as increased traffic and emissions in surrounding areas under low-car scenarios. This report marks the official closure of the Almere Pampus use case within the XCARCITY project.
